CEO's Blog January 2022

As we begin the New Year, I would like to wish you all a happy New Year – although at the moment many of you will be struggling with the impact of Covid either at home or in the workplace. Let’s hope 2022 brings some relief from the pandemic and we are able to fully focus on what is important to us moving forwards.

This is a very exciting time for Kingfisher Learning Trust as we welcome two new schools to our Trust family – Littlemoor Primary School and Halcyon Way Special School.

Littlemoor School has chosen to join our Trust and we are very excited about the opportunities that this new partnership brings.

Halcyon Way is a newly built Free School that has been in the planning and building phase for a number of years. It is a real milestone in that we now have our first cohort of children attending and have recruited a number of staff to the Trust to work across Halcyon Way and Kingfisher Special School with a shared Leadership Team.

This growth will bring many opportunities and as we move forward as one Trust, we can be sure that we will be able to work together and support each other to ensure the best possible provision for the children we serve. We will be further developing our Collaborative Support Model that draws on expertise from a range of practitioners located across Trust schools. We have also recruited a new Director of Primary who will be joining us after Easter to further enhance the primary provision.

So amidst the turbulence that the pandemic brings, we can be proud of how we have continued to develop and improve our offer rather than treading water. It is important that we recognise our achievements and be proud of our professionalism and creativity, working hard to keep safe and remaining focussed on our priorities – the children, underpinned by our values.

2022 will continue to bring many challenges, but with a clear focus to provide a high quality education in all of our schools, we will be able to build on our foundations and develop effective ways of working together across our four schools.

These are exciting times for Kingfisher Learning Trust.

All the best
